๐ Description:
Domperidone 10 mg Tablet is a prokinetic and antiemetic agent. It enhances gastrointestinal motility and blocks dopamine receptors in the chemoreceptor trigger zone (CTZ), thereby reducing nausea and vomiting.
๐งพ Prescription / Indications:
Prescribed for:
- Nausea and vomiting (due to various causes including medications, infections, or GI disorders)
- Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
- Functional dyspepsia
- Delayed gastric emptying
- Sometimes used to enhance lactation (off-label)
Usual adult dose:
- 10 mg 3 times daily, 15โ30 minutes before meals
- Maximum: 30 mg/day
- Duration should generally not exceed 1 week without re-evaluation
