๐Ÿงช Generic Name:

Bedaquiline Fumarate


๐Ÿ“ฆ Strength & Form:

  • Tablet: 100 mg of Bedaquiline base
  • Oral administration

๐Ÿฉบ Indications / Uses:

Used exclusively for:

  • Multidrug-Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR-TB)
  • In combination with other anti-TB medicines

It is not used alone and only under specialist supervision within national TB programs.


โš–๏ธ Dosage (Adults):

As per WHO and national TB guidelines:

  • Weeks 1โ€“2:
    400 mg once daily (i.e. 4 tablets of 100 mg)
  • Weeks 3โ€“24:
    200 mg three times per week (e.g. Monday, Wednesday, Friday)

Total duration: 24 weeks (6 months)


โš ๏ธ Precautions:

  • QT prolongation: Monitor ECG regularly
  • Use with caution with QT-prolonging drugs
  • Hepatotoxicity risk โ†’ monitor LFTs
  • Must be taken with food for better absorption
