Bedaquiline Fumarate
๐ฆ Strength & Form:
- Tablet: 100 mg of Bedaquiline base
- Oral administration
๐ฉบ Indications / Uses:
Used exclusively for:
- Multidrug-Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR-TB)
- In combination with other anti-TB medicines
It is not used alone and only under specialist supervision within national TB programs.
โ๏ธ Dosage (Adults):
As per WHO and national TB guidelines:
- Weeks 1โ2:
400 mg once daily (i.e. 4 tablets of 100 mg) - Weeks 3โ24:
200 mg three times per week (e.g. Monday, Wednesday, Friday)
Total duration: 24 weeks (6 months)
โ ๏ธ Precautions:
- QT prolongation: Monitor ECG regularly
- Use with caution with QT-prolonging drugs
