💡 Mechanism of Action:
Methylene blue functions as a reducing agent, converting methemoglobin (Fe³⁺) back to functional hemoglobin (Fe²⁺) via the NADPH methemoglobin reductase pathway.
It also inhibits nitric oxide synthase and guanylate cyclase, useful in vasoplegic states.
